- Failure of the outer rubber layer
(1) Cracks appear on the hose surface
The main reason for cracks on the hose surface is that the hose is bent in a cold environment.
(2) Bubbles appear on the outer surface of the hose
The reason why bubbling appears on the outer surface of the hose is that the production quality of the hose is not up to standard, or it is used improperly during work.
(3) The hose is not broken but has a lot of oil leakage
The hose leaked a lot of oil but no rupture was found. The reason is that when the high-pressure liquid flow passes through the hose, the inner rubber is eroded and scratched until the steel wire layer leaks out in a large area, causing a large amount of oil leakage.
(4) The outer rubber layer of the hose is severely deteriorated and micro-cracks appear on the surface. This is a sign of natural aging of the hose. Due to aging and deterioration, the outer layer is continuously oxidized so that the surface is covered with a layer of ozone, which thickens over time. Micro cracks will occur as long as the hose is slightly bent during use. In this case, the hose should be replaced.
- Failure of the inner rubber layer
(1) The inner rubber layer of the hose is hard and has cracks: the main reason is that the plasticizer added to the rubber product makes the hose flexible and plastic. However, if the hose is overheated, the plasticizer will overflow.
(2) The inner rubber layer of the hose has seriously deteriorated and obviously swelled because the inner rubber material of the hose is incompatible with the oil used in the hydraulic system, and the hose has deteriorated due to chemical action.
- Failure manifested in the reinforcement layer
(1) The hose is broken and the braided steel wire is rusted near the breach. The hose is ruptured. After peeling off the outer rubber layer and inspecting it, it is found that the braided steel wire is rusted near the breach. This is mainly due to the fact that this layer is affected by moisture or corrosive substances, which weakens the strength of the hose and leads to rupture under high pressure.
(2) The reinforced layer of the hose is not rusty, but there are irregular wire breaks in the reinforced layer.
The hose ruptured, and after peeling off the outer rubber layer, no rust in the reinforcement layer was found, but irregular wire breakage appeared in the length direction of the reinforcement layer. The main reason was that the hose was subjected to high-frequency impact force.
- Failure manifested at the rupture opening
(1) The hose is broken in one or more places, the cracks are neat, and other parts are in good condition.
The main reason for this phenomenon is that the system pressure is too high, exceeding the pressure resistance of the hose.
(2) The hose is twisted at the rupture point
This phenomenon occurs because the hose is excessively twisted during installation or use.
